The Royal Melbourne Wine Show
was first conducted by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria in
1884. It featured 13 entries and has since grown to accommodate over
3500 entries in 2009.
Incorporating the renowned Jimmy Watson Trophy (first awarded in 1962),
the Royal Melbourne Wine Show is recognised as one of Australia’s most prestigious wine shows.
It brings together the very best Australian wine makers and producers
and is renowned as a benchmark of excellence in wine production.

The Royal Agricultural
Society of Victoria (RASV) is a member-based organisation committed to
the advancement of agriculture and agribusiness.
Our agribusiness objectives culminate in the delivery of competitions,
showcasing, and knowledge exchange. The RASV also manages the Royal
Melbourne Show - Victoria's largest public event and many rural based
farming competitions.
